A silky-smooth, always perfectly groomed intimate area: This is how the modern woman is always perfectly prepared for any eventuality. Techniques like sugaring or waxing, in particular, tend to be painful and uncomfortable in the intimate area. Not only does the process itself involve some contortions, but the skin in this area is also quite sensitive.
Getting your bikini line lasered - No problem!
However, this isn't an issue with permanent laser hair removal in the intimate area. The treatment is painless; most clients feel nothing more than a warm sensation or a slight tingling, which isn't really unpleasant. They cool the treated area of skin in the intimate region while you're being lasered – and because the treatment area is relatively small, a session doesn't take long at all.
1. Consultation and information
The first step in permanent laser hair removal is always a personal consultation. Naturally, the permanent laser hair removal is performed by medically trained members of our team. We will also discuss any potential contraindications and then divide the skin into the areas to be treated. We will also discuss your preferred treatment style if only partial hair removal is desired.
2. Preparation
Before the actual hair removal begins, the skin is pre-treated if necessary. Tattoos in the intimate area, where the laser works, are covered. Moles are clearly marked. The medical laser is also calibrated to ensure the best possible results for permanent intimate hair removal.
3. Now the intimate area is treated with a laser.
Our technician will now slowly and steadily treat the area of skin where the unwanted hairs will no longer grow and therefore no longer be a nuisance. Permanent laser hair removal takes approximately eight sessions. This is necessary because the laser only destroys the hair follicles that are currently active. After typically eight sessions, all hair follicles are eliminated, and the skin in the intimate area is silky smooth, velvety soft, and, most importantly, hair-free.
Styles and forms of laser treatment for the intimate area
The desired style is discussed beforehand. Normally, four popular styles are distinguished in the intimate area.
Bikini area complete
This method completely removes all hair in the intimate area, including that of the labia and mons pubis. After this intimate hair removal, the area always looks young, fresh, and as smooth and well-groomed as possible.
Bikini American
The American style is also characterized by a few remaining hairs. These are usually triangular in shape, and the labia are not treated with the laser. Our clients, of course, decide how large (height and width) the remaining "hair triangle" should be.
Brazilian Bikini
This variation is characterized by the small, elongated strip of hair. The labia are not shaved during a Brazilian wax.
Bikini line classic
It's possible to have laser hair removal in the bikini area even if some visible hair growth remains. The classic method only removes the hairs that would be bothersome and protrude from the underwear.
Getting your bikini line lasered: What's the difference compared to lasering the intimate area?
At Haarpunkt, our valued clients can have either their intimate area or just their bikini line lasered. In both cases, the treatment is performed by trained experts who calibrate the medical laser according to hair growth and hair and skin color. The treatment is also carried out with the utmost discretion, care, and, of course, empathy in both cases. Don't worry: having your bikini line lasered is not at all unpleasant.
The difference between the two options lies in the details. "Intimate area lasered" refers to the complete removal of hair from the entire front of the skin. This includes the labia as well as the mons pubis.
The bikini line, strictly speaking, is the area not covered by underwear, i.e., above, below, to the left, and right of the underwear. Often, it's also possible to laser the bikini line without removing your underwear. This also helps in precisely defining the area to be treated.
Advantages of permanent laser hair removal in the bikini area and intimate area
It is no longer necessary to spend money on razors and shaving products (such as shaving cream).
Annoying razor or waxing burn, i.e., those small, bothersome pimples, are therefore avoided.

What should you consider before having laser treatment of the bikini area?
The area should be shaved the day before the treatment appointment. This allows the hair to reach an optimal length for the laser to target in the hours leading up to the appointment. Waxing and sugaring should be avoided for at least four weeks beforehand, as both can negatively affect the destruction of the hair follicles. The skin should also not be irritated, for example, by sunburn.
Generally, we advise women who wish to have laser treatment of the intimate area or bikini line not to schedule an appointment during their period. During menstruation, the body is generally more sensitive to pain, which can make the laser treatment somewhat more uncomfortable. Ultimately, however, we usually leave this decision to our clients.
What should be considered after treatment of the intimate area?
The skin should be protected from external irritants. We recommend comfortable underwear made of pure cotton, which can be a little looser. Furthermore, prolonged sunbathing and direct sun exposure should be avoided after permanent laser hair removal. We also advise against using tanning beds for the time being. Saunas and strenuous exercise should be paused for at least a few days.
Using a soothing, nourishing, and hydrating moisturizer after the treatment can be very beneficial. In general, it is important to stay hydrated – and drink plenty of water! This promotes the healing process and helps any minor redness that may appear immediately after the treatment to disappear more quickly.
